Bitcoin to get more investment from NY-based pension fund: report

Bloomberg – Fintech startup Blockcreek Investments, which provides investment advice and advice on bitcoin, plans to invest in New York-based bitcoin investment firm Blockcree, the company said on Monday.

Bloomberg reported earlier this week that Blockcrees CEO Brian Hartwig, a New York native, and its co-founder Alex van den Brink are expecting to invest $1 million in the firm.

Blockcreek invests in bitcoin startups and ICOs, with a focus on bitcoin-related products and services.

The Blockcrows first investment comes on the heels of a $250 million investment in August by a group led by former Citigroup chief executive Brian Moynihan.

The investment came as a result of Blockcrews recent efforts to raise money from investors, according to a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Block Creek has previously invested in bitcoin-focused companies such as BitPay, Coinbase, and the BitShares exchange.
