The average postal service pension is $4,858, according the data.
The median federal pension in 2017 was $23,842, according a Labor Department report.
The government has promised to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 by 2021, but it has been slow to deliver on that promise.
The average minimum federal pension was $15,085 in 2017.
The most recent data shows the federal median for a person is $24,737.
Average state and local pension costs have increased in recent years, and a majority of workers have experienced a decline in their state or local pension benefits over the past decade.
A Pew Research Center report from December found that 58 percent of workers in the U:are currently eligible for the National Insurance Contributions Act’s federal retirement benefits.
The report also found that 62 percent of working Americans have taken out a 401(k) or 403(b) plan at least once.
