MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski recently asked the president of the United States, if he would like to retire at the end of his term.
Trump replied, “I will probably do it sometime.”
The president is referring to his plans to spend the next four years in office, which would likely put him into retirement.
Trump has said he would have to take a pay cut to make it happen.
The president would then be required to take out a retirement benefit package, with the option to keep a certain amount of it for himself, the president, his children and the president’s wife, Melania.
“The president would probably be the last to take that benefit,” White House budget director Mick Mulvaney said on “Fox News Sunday.”
Trump would have the option of reducing his contribution to his own account, Mulvie said.
Trump has made it clear that he wants to continue his work as president.
“I love it,” Trump said of his presidency in a CBS interview last week.
“The fact that I’m president means I have time to work.
And I have a lot of time.”
